[IDOLOGY] Taeyeon - 'My Voice' The 1st Full Album Review (2017)

I have already highly praised it on a different sound platform (c), but this album contains all the ego Taeyeon wanted to very much express. A rocking tone that is splendidly set off like fireworks in the night sky, the ballad's emotions that seem to scrape up the sensitivities that sink in at any moment. The song that Nell's Kim Jongwan gave Taeyeon was an unexpected track, it overruled my expectations and thoughts that it wouldn't be suitable and plays out as a beautiful pop song. To summarize my impressions regarding the full album: prism. It may be a tired analogy, but it feels like looking into a prism that changes its path of light as one pleases. SM Entertainment's planning is surprising, but it is needless to talk more about the skills and natural inborn abilities of Taeyeon, who can handle that planning freely.

It's cool that she's been consistently releasing emotional songs so far, and it's wonderful to firmly establish your own style of music as a solo artist, but she did not settle for that. The album is truly a cool album because it is a full album that is tightly packed with songs of more various sounds that express her emotions. Truthfully, there is no disagreement here that Taeyeon is a vocalist that "does well", but I personally thought she had vocals that lacked distinct features. However, because of that, in this album, which is filled with various genres of songs, Taeyeon's vocals are optimized for each song's sound and at the same time, they function as vocals that can bring out the maximum value of the song. If the genres of the B-side tracks are different, it usually becomes "An album like the chattering at a department store", but the B-side tracks are bundled into one complete album. It would have been impossible if it had not been supported by Taeyeon's capability. All the songs are chosen to completion and have persuasiveness which makes it difficult to list how I liked the songs on the album. It's an album that is like a collection of the best things from all the female idol productions that SM Entertainment has ever shown.
