PICK! Mimyo:
Christmas season songs only exist as conservative songs. Because they are closely connected to each person's childhood memories. (Adults too look for Santa Clause who is [spoiler].) Therefore, it can't be helped that Christmas music is especially different from us due to our different cultural history compared to the western society. This album creates a 'new song' by detailing and combining the microscopic elements of traditional Western Christmas season songs (beyond 'saltshakers', jazz, etc.) So there are a lot of overlaps in "luxurious pop", and there are also a lot of scenes where K-Pop and musicals cross over. Come to think of it, when a song that is somewhat difficult comes out, expectably, Taeyeon's existence convinces me it's a pop genre. It's not rhetoric but in fact, it's thanks to the strength of a vocalist the public can trust and listen to, Taeyeon quickly brings out feelings of sweetness and seduction, melancholy and regret, joyfulness, etc. with her outstanding vocal performance. Above all, one of the charms of this album is that singing Taeyeon seems to be very pleasant. 'This Christmas' which you can enjoy most of the time regardless of Christmas, 'Christmas Without You', that 'good pop song' that you can deeply delve into, and 'I'm All Ears' is particularly impressive with its repetitive alternating melody that gives off mystery and lyricism which plays with your heart.
